For fans of my channel, Josh Levine Speaks, you know...I LOVE GUITARS....I've played since the age of 4, owned and operated a music store for over a decade and gave guitar lessons for even more....
So in this post I am going offer my opinion of the 10 Best Electric Guitars for Under $500 and give you links below, where you can find them. Ibanez GRX70
Coming in at #10 is The Ibanez GRX70. Its Super affordable and has killer action. At $199 you cannot go wrong. If you are just starting out or need a good backup guitar and I can confidently recommend this guitar for anyone. It just stays in tune and plays like a professional instrument...today's value guitars are just far superior to what "we gen-xers and baby boomers" had to learn on. I am just sayin'
Fender Squier Affinity Stratocaster
Okay #9 is a staple...The Strat....it's the Fender Squier Affinity Stratocaster to be exact. These are just under $300 and come in many flavors, meaning colors. And they even have these packaged with all sorts of goodies if you are 1 stop shopping. Squire Strats have been around for a long time and they just seem to get better and better each year with quality control improvements. I got in trouble with my last video as "Strats" didn't make my list...I just lean towards Tele and Paul necks but I learned my lesson.
Jackson JS22 Dinky Arch Top
#8 The Jackson JS22 Dinky Arch Top is awesome for about $319. Just think action and precision. You know the "like butta" qualification. That's how Jackson play. I don't think I've ever heard someone say, I don't like they way that Jackson plays. In my opinion, Jackson has always focused on performance.
Schechter C-6 Plus
#7 Is the Schechter C-6 Plus...it has excellent action, a Tune-O-Matic Bridge w/ String Thru Body so it will freakin' stay in tune....and at $349.00...if you are serious about learning or need a killer 2nd guitar....this is a killer. And note, I received a lot of Thanks yous' after the last video for turning people on to this model & brand.
Note: Schechter and most of the makers I referenced have some slight variations or upgrades of these models that are of course also very good...finishes, pickup configurations, etc. I just want to throw that in.
Gretsch G5425 Electromatic Jet Club
Alright #6 is the Gretsch G5425 Electromatic Jet Club. Classic Gretsch Sound, great action and sustain....$349.00...an amazing buy. When you check out the links I suggest you read other players reviews. Guitarists tend to have opinions...and they will share.
Danelectro ’64XT
#5 is the Danelectro ’64XT. Book'em dano! This is a rock and roll beast... Coil Split Pickups, Wilkinson Tremelo and tone for days and $399.00....ever since danos were reissued...they have focused on quality and play great....many note there super distinct sound and I just know they make a great product for the money.
Sterling Albert Lee HH By Music Man
I love #4....is the Sterling, Albert Lee HH By Music Man...it has an incredible variety of sounds and tone, for a ridiculous price....$399.00...this is another model I featured in last years video that I heard alot of positive feedback about.
Squier Fender 50's Telecaster
Now I can get my Tele on...#3 is the Squier Fender 50's Telecaster....it's the classic tele and only $399.00...there's a reason this model has survived for almost 70 years.
Squier Vintage Modified '72 Telecaster Thinline
So #2 is also a Tele but what I consider an upgrade. It's the Squier Vintage Modified '72 Telecaster Thinline...jumbo frets, super clean bending, classic tele feel and big tonal range with those pickups....It’s a bargain @ $449.00...I think it will surprise you with it's versatility...
But here's my number #1 or my personal choice if $500 was no object.
ESP LTD EC-256
The ESP LTD EC-256...To get what ESP Gives you for under $500 is just nuts. This guitar was my best reviewed and received the most feedback in last years video. The fact you can still get one of these for under $500 is insane. In fact I've seen them for $449.00 delivered. Wow !
I have links to all of these GUITARS for you to do your own research. What even kills me more....most of these are available next day delivery, and free shipping....I am so glad I am out of the retail business.
