From the recent feedback I have received, my last post might have freaked you all out a bit. That was my goal but I got keep my readers happy, and therefore, I will lighten up a bit today. You all seem to enjoy Totally Random Facts of Useless Knowledge and that I can deliver. I got a lifetime of them for you. So...and as always... I must issue this disclaimer. I believe everything I am about to post is true, but it may not be...but I thinks so... so here they are...of course, with my added foolishness. #1 7% of American adults actually believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows...7% doesn’t sound like a lot, but that actually works out at 16.4 million American adults....enough to swing an election ? Terrifying but so delicious.
#2 When the inventor of the Frisbee died, the family had him cremated and made into a Frisbee...it's true ! Walter Morrison, when the inventor of the Pluto Platter, as it was originally called, died in 2010, his family had has his remains turned in to the Frisbee. Wham-o Morrison?
#3 It is a fact that during the average humans lifetime, one will produce enough saliva to fill two swimming pools...so cry me a river but spit me a couple of pools ?
#4 Movie trailers were originally shown... after the movie, which is why they were called “trailers”...who was the marketing genius that came up with that...they quickly figured out, no one was watching them. So now we technically have "starters" I guess.
#5 An Eagle can kill a small deer. Its a fact and don't google the videos. Wow...I was doing research on something else & I stumbled upon it !
#6 More people are killed from injuries caused by taking a selfies than by shark attacks....In fact there were only 5 deaths due to shark attacks last year, the average is 6...however there were 35 deaths caused by taking selfies and I bet, that just the one's we are sure of.
#7 The US Navy uses Xbox controllers for their submarines periscopes. It was determined the control stick for periscopes were so complicated, using Xbox controllers cut the learning time from hours to just minutes.
#8 In the 16th Century, a Turkish woman could initiate a divorce proceeding, if their husband didn’t pour them coffee. Coffee was such an integral part of Turkish society and taken very seriously. Just like womens rights, I think ?
#9 It is believed approximately 10-20% of all U.S. power outages, each year are caused by squirrels....when are we going to do something about them damned squirrels.
#10 Nearly 3% of the ice in Antarctic glaciers is penguin urine. The temperature in the Antarctic is always well below zero and therefore the urine can’t evaporate. It has no where to go...so was Happy Feet inspired by Pee Pee Feet ?
#11 ABBA turned down 1 billion dollars to do a reunion tour. In 2000, ABBA was offered $1 billion dollars to reunite for 100 shows, which would have equaled $250 million per member !They turned it down. If you are surprised by the amount, remember ABBA has sold over 380 million albums & singles worldwide. They are the 3rd best selling group of all time only behind Queen & the Beatles. #12 One in 3 divorce filings in the U.S. contains the word “Facebook.” But only 1 in 40, dutch oven. #13 George W. Bush was football a cheerleader. In high-school and at Yale. Hey...Meet too...just not Yale.
